A great new tangling group in Nokomis!

"Welcome" to a new 'Introduction to Zentangle' class in Nokomis!

We had a great group of new tanglers today. Most were brand new to the Zentangle method, and everyone had a good time discovering what it's all about. It's so true that "Zentangle attracts the nicest people"!

Zentangle classes in Sarasota, Venice, and Nokomis, Florida!

The season has started here in Florida, and so have Zentangle classes! On Saturday, I taught a wonderful group of 6 new tanglers at Sarasota Art & Frame, and they all "caught the zen" in Zentangle. Two women are already friends of mine from previous classes (I call us a 'mutual admiration society'), and the other four are new friends!

When I got home later that day, I felt like doing some tangling, myself, which felt good!

Here is a small "addendum" to this post. In light of the anxiety and  tension that many people (including myself) are feeling lately,  I responded by creating this digital collage. Enjoy!

Welcome to new (and continuing) tanglers in Nokomis and Sarasota, Florida!

January is off to a great start with Zentangle, with a few Introduction to Zentangle classes as well as a Renaissance tile class! I am always amazed at the variety of styles that each tile has, even though we are each doing the same tangles! I also enjoy how we can all be inspired by each other. New ideas and tanglations come out all the time!

It's such a joy to share the Zentangle process with others, *and* to make new friends at the same time!

Here's our class on January 19:

More friends met together on  January 13:

Leslie, Joy, Jan, and Carrie.

~ And here is our group for the Renaissance tile class! I love sharing the Renaissance techniques because of the depth that's achieved from using shading as well as highlighting.

. . . and last but NOT least, we had a small (but wonderful) class at Sarasota Art & Frame! We had three new tanglers. Only two gave permission to have their photos put up on the blog, so I was happy to add them!

Take a look at the wonderful differences and individual styles of these three!

. . . . . . A  big "THANK YOU" to all who have joined me in classes!

A new year for tangling! Happy 2016!

Whew! The holidays are over! I hope everyone had a fantastic start to the new year, filled with peace, relaxation, and creativity!

Here at our park, the "summer camp for adults" is officially open. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of teaching 12 new tanglers at Sarasota Art & Frame. (It was also the first time that I used a digital projector, and I think that it helped immensly!)

~Today, we had "Tangle Talk" at our park: an informal get-together of tanglers to share ideas and inspire each other. Today, we had 9 people show up: a lot of creative energy!

Three New Tanglers in Nokomis, Florida!l

Last Thursday, we had another Introduction to Zentangle class. Joyce, who had taken my class the day before, offered to give us her lanai for this class. It was air-conditioned, and we felt right at home! Thanks again, Joyce

I do love to see the variations and "signature styles" of each tile!

. . . . . And Zentangle in Nokomis/Sarasota has started!

Our first Introduction to Zentangle class took place at the Royal Coachman RV Resort today. Four new tanglers participated, and I think they're hooked!

I can't wait to see more tangling from these women!

Home Party and Class

Last night we had a home party/class at Jan and Jimmy's house. Their place is a "mecca" for both art and music (Jimmy is an awesome mandolin player, and Jan is a tangler and a calligrapher, among other arts!): my kind of place! After we had some dinner, we got down to tangling...

I see one, or maybe two or three future CZT's! You never know! :-)

. . . And then there's the photo-shoot at the end!

I do love sharing Zentangle! (Can you tell??)

Wonderful memories of teaching new tanglers in Florida!

We've packed up our things, and made our semi-yearly trek back to Colorado. I'm thinking of all of the wonderful people in Nokimis, Fl. who became 'new tanglers' when they took my 'Intro to Zentangle' classes. Everyone was wonderful, and it was a true joy to teach these students! Here are some of the photos of the last Intro classes that were taught. (Earlier classes were shown in previous posts!)
